![]() ![]() So I'm wondering if anyone has some experience and/or recommendations about how I can accomplish this workflow. This doesn't resolve my issue because Zapier seems to want to pull the value from the field being watched by the "Last Modified Time" field, not the computed field that I need it to.Īfter consulting the airtable documentation I'm starting to be convinced that the workflow I have in mind is not possible (I would be happy to be wrong about that). My Airtable field/column is not empty - I have data in the records I want to send to. The airtable documentation recommends pointing the "Last Modified Time" field at one of the editable fields used in the computed fields. Checking that field type in Airtable is supported by Zapier. The problem I'm having is that I'm not finding a way to point the "Last Modified Time" field at the calculated price field because AFAIK that field cannot monitor computed fields. I want to use Zapier to automate the process of updating prices on my website when changes are made to prices.Īs I understand, Zapier wants to use the a "Last Modified Time" field as the reference to know when to trigger the action. All information is input into the Airtable by the project manager of the given project via an Airtable form. If I use the “Update Airtable Record” action instead, then I need to insert a sear ch step for the record I want, which I cannot do on a free plan.Hi all, I use an airtable formula to calculate product prices. The reason I cannot use Surname & Firstname combo in the Lookup fields is that these values may change and I would end up creating a new record when I actually want to just update the existing record using the record_id. Since I need to lookup the record with unique value, the only way to source that unique value is using some function or formula field within Airtable. This will open up the option to add an existing field (also searchable by name) or add a new field to the backend base and form by clicking the + Create field option. Click on the blue + icon where you want to add the field. After clicking on the canvas, hover in between fields. However, “phone number” formatted fields are also missing. On the canvas, you are able to: Add fields to the form. It seems only text fields are displayed here. 11:52 AM For anybody else in a similar situation, I ended up solving this by creating a google calendar event within the same automation and then updating the record again using the date from the google calendar event, which I can set whenever I want using date arithmetic. The fields that are available are as follows: ![]() The problem with New Record in View is that it will only trigger once for the entire lifetime of the record (in that view). In fact, very few fields of the Airtable base table are available to select as a lookup field or even a secondary lookup. One of the big limitations for Airtable users who are trying to use Zapier is that we only have 2 triggers: New Record and New Record In View. However, in the Action Step of the zap, when I try to use the “Zapier Key” field as the Lookup Field for my Airtable record, it is not available in the list of fields. Since I am on a free plan, I cannot do a 2-step zap, so I have to use “Create or Update an Airtable Record” to achieve this in one step. When a Zapier table record is updated, I want to update the same record in Airtable. Use case 2: Create or update a record in Airtable with data from another app - advanced. I also have a Zapier table that reflects as subset of these Airtable fields - including the Record_ID Zapiers Tasks Cycles Scenario execution, cycles, and phases. The field list is displayed here and the Record_Id field is named “Zapier Key”: This is the unique field for all records in the table. With Zapier, you can do more than just connect your apps - you can automate entire processes from beginning to end Check out the following list of triggers and actions you can use with Google Docs, Airtable, and Zapier Chrome extension. I have an Airtable base / table with many fields, name address phone etc, and it includes a formula field which is populated with the Airtable RECORD_ID() function. Do even more with Google Docs + Airtable + Zapier Chrome extension. ![]()
